A former Emmy-Award Winning News Anchor, Kristen brings a fresh and dynamic energy to ChicExecs. Most recently a News Anchor at San Diego 6, XETV, Kristen has Anchored at WSPA in Greenville, South Carolina, KCWY in Casper, Wyoming and KZSW in Temecula, California. Kristen prides herself on being able to tell great stories and build lasting relationships with the media. With almost 10 years of news industry experience, Kristen’s insider knowledge gives her clients an advantage to understanding how the media works. As a result, Kristen has secured meaningful media placements for clients and goes above and beyond to help promote and maintain their brands. Kristen has a B.A. from Southern Methodist University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and playing tennis.
Having a strong background in journalism, marketing and public relations, Leah takes great pride in her unique ability to cultivate lasting relationships with both clients and the media. Leah is committed to working with clients to help them reach their public relations goals and create strategic pathways for success. Leah’s background gives clients the advantage of a multi-faceted approach to PR and understanding of everyday business challenges. Having graduated with a B.A. in Communication from DePaul University in Chicago, IL, Leah has over 12 years experience working with major media and an extensive writing background. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, chasing her son and daughter around with the camera, reading and entertaining.
Chelsea Gladden works closely with clients to strategically secure both national and local media. Her passion and desire to help clients’ products and services succeed is instrumental in her track record of landing press on national television, top tier print publications, magazines, radio and more. Working closely with producers and editors, Chelsea has secured numerous features that lead to record breaking sales for clients. Chelsea previously worked for Sony Pictures, working closely with their daytime television PR department as well as the PR team for The Young and the Restless. In addition, she has been hired by agencies to work on strategic campaigns for both major brands as well as start ups. Chelsea has also appeared on camera multiple times promoting products and has an insider’s view on what works when pitching clients. In her spare time, Chelsea drinks lots of coffee while watching the segments her clients are featured on.
Throughout her 11 year career as a public relations professional, Sarah Brodersen has worked with a diverse set of clientele and projects including VH1’s Celebrity Rehab, The NAACP Image Awards, NBA’s “All Star Weekend,” Main Event Red Carpet Lounges for The Emmys and The Oscars, Tweet House for The Sundance Film Festival and The SXSW Film Festival, Del Frisco’s Grille launch, “Hot in Hollywood,” The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, The Los Angeles Film Festival, Showtime’s EAT SEE HEAR, Adam Carolla, and Dr. Drew Pinsky. Sarah has developed and executed successful media and public awareness campaigns for a diverse collection of consumer brands including Neuro Drinks, and fashion brands including Morgane Le Fay and Sprouts Kids Clothing to name a few, as well as scores of personalities, authors, experts, restaurants and hotels. Sarah has also aided in the production of charity events for clients including The Will Rogers Foundation, Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach, Children Mending Hearts, Hot in Hollywood, and The African First Ladies Foundation. Alex has worked in a variety of arenas of Marketing & Media, but she became passionate about PR through launching her site, Breezy Mama, of which she is co-founder. Breezy Mama has taught her numerous things, but most importantly, it’s taught her what works in a PR pitch and what makes you want to delete it. Mom of two, she’s been featured on NBC San Diego News and OC Radio’s Momz Rock the House Show as well as in Pregnancy Magazine, Woman’s World and the SC Times. Alex’s pre-mom career was in magazine publishing, first at Surfing, and then later, at Surfing Girl, which she helped launch. Although her official title at Surfing Girl was Marketing Coordinator, Alex wrote the beauty and product columns, as well as some of the feature stories. She went on to become the Associate Publisher for SG: Surf, Snow, Skate Girl—an action sports magazine for young women—which is where she stayed until having her first child.
A three time Emmy nominated producer, Jennifer is excited to bring more than 16 years of valuable news industry knowledge and experience to ChicExecs. Most recently the Executive Producer for San Diego 6 News, Jennifer juggled breaking news, coordinated live shots and strategized with the news team to deliver shows that were both informative and entertaining. Working closely with guests developed her skills to deliver their segments in the most visual and interesting way possible. After years of sifting through “pitches” sent in by PR professionals, she knows what it takes for a press release to be effective and continues to maintain key media relationships that can be essential in coverage. In her spare time, Jennifer likes hitting the gym, keeping up with fashion and growing her list of home improvement ideas. She’s also a mother of two young beautiful children, so she knows the importance of multitasking while having fun!

Sammi is a graduate from San Diego State University’s School of Communication. Sammi began at ChicExecs as an intern and soon made her way to an Account Coordinator position. Since then, she has grown into the role of Account Executive, and has a passion for helping her clients target their products to a variety of demographics. Sammi believes in the power of her color-coordinated post-its, and greets every work day with a hot cup of coffee and a smile. In her free time Sammi is a soccer coach for young teenagers, and loves being a positive role model for the next generation of boss ladies.
Kristi Torrington is an upbeat and positive person with a passion for media. With a heart for serving, she loves using her talents to better the world and her community. She has a wide range of experience from television, sales, promotions, social media and more which gives her the ability to fully understand all sides of the media industry. Kristi has worked with a variety of companies from mom and pop shops to large businesses like Disney. She always tries to think outside the box and she puts her whole heart in each project she works on. Kristi graduated from Biola University and is a proud Marine wife and dog mom.
Kristen has roughly a decade of well-rounded experience in the Public Relations, Sales and Marketing fields. A graduate from Biola University in Southern California with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations, Kristen received The Most Outstanding Contribution Award as Chapter President of the Public Relations Student Society of America. Her official PR career began at the global power firm, Hill and Knowlton as the Public Relations Assistant to the Orange County office. She has since worked with Fortune 500 corporate clients, major non profit organizations, A-list celebrities, high profile physicians, nationally acclaimed universities and small business entrepreneurs. Kristen has a knack for securing local, national, and international coverage for clients from any industry. Besides her love for media relations, Kristen enjoys event production, and has managed numerous private red carpet events working directly with the likes of Prince, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Shaun Robinson, In Style Magazine, the Hallmark Channel, Rolls Royce, and many more (just to name a few). Kristen enjoys taking sincere, personal interest in her clients and prides herself on going above and beyond to deliver the best results possible.
Courtney Bustillos is a former award-winning journalist and was born and raised in San Diego. She attended San Diego State University, where she was a cheerleader and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Prior to joining ChicExecs, Courtney hosted Cox San Diego Connection, a 30-minute show on Channel 4 San Diego. She also worked as an Anchor/Reporter/Producer at San Diego 6 for five years. Prior to San Diego 6, she worked as an Anchor and Sports Reporter at the CBS affiliate in Palm Springs. Courtney met her husband Kevan while attending SDSU. The couple lives in Carlsbad with their two young daughters, Ella and Charlotte. Courtney and her family enjoy the outdoors as much as possible and spend a lot of time at Dog Beach with their black lab, Bodhi. Courtney is also very passionate about all things fitness related. She loves to run and is also a barre instructor at the Dailey Method barre studio in Carlsbad.
Mackenzie is a recent graduate from California State University San Marcos with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a focus in Business. During her time at CSUSM, she was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega. Mackenzie started at ChicExecs as an intern and has since moved up to Account Coordinator. She is your typical Southern California girl who loves to spend her free time in the sunshine, whether it be at the beach, on a hike, or on a walk with her dog. Mackenzie just traveled through Europe, visiting 9 countries and found her passion to see the world. Mackenzie believes that hard work pays off and is driven for success.
Maggie Douglas brings her passion for the industry to ChicExecs and enjoys the ever evolving world of brand development. She loves watching clients flourish and continue their success through the help of our astounding team. Maggie came to ChicExecs from a marketing background of 6 years and puts her Communications degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City to use every day by way of helping clients realize their potential and matching them with the most effective strategy for their brand. In her free time she loves volunteering at a local animal shelter, hitting the gym and being a part time beach bum in beautiful San Diego.
Erica Arvanitis is a writer with experience in professional blogging and social content since 2014. A graduate from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing, Erica has gained experience in content writing with positions ranging from Blog Coordinator at a startup pet company, creating and producing social content as the Social Content Manager at a law firm, and writing social copy on a daily basis as the Social Media Coordinator for Renovate America. While she has grown in her skills in Social Media content, Erica is excited to return to her first love of writing as a Copywriter at ChicExecs. When she isn’t writing, Erica lives in San Diego, California and keeps up with her own personal literary review blog while hanging with her 10 year old Chow mix, Gussie, who she forces to wear themed sweaters on a constant basis.
Whether it was selling homemade friendship bracelets or bait to local fisherman on the dock of the bay, Nichole has always had the entrepreneur spirit! In 2007 she founded PurseHook, LLC and eventually FUMI, Inc with her family. They built a successful women’s accessory company through years of hard work and determination. As a founding partner and Vice President, Nichole was key in all product development including product design and patent work, financial matters, and marketing. Nichole did live on-air sales several times for QVC and she was integral for all worldwide sales that included fortune 500 stores such as Target, Dillard’s, Bed Bath and Beyond, and many more. Nichole makes her happy home in San Diego, CA with her husband, two daughters, and their adorable French Bulldog, Goose.
Brianna joined the Chic family in 2012 starting in Channel Management for the company’s product line ChicBuds under Fashion Audio LLC. Her enthusiasm to learn and grow from her great ChicExecs mentors and LOVE for fashion has helped prepare her to embark on her position as Channel Management Senior Account Executive for ChicExecs! She works with enthusiasm and a contagious positive spirit! One of Brianna’s favorite parts of her job is seeking out new innovative designers and presenting their collections to the major retail buyers! Most recently, Brianna has helped get product lines in major retailers such as; Anthropologie, Von Maur, Buckle, Boscov’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Pac Sun, Fred Segal, Sports Authority, World Market, Neebo, Sears and more. Brianna has background experience in Retail, Merchandising, Event Planning (i.e. organizing and conducting quarterly Fashion Shows) and Office Management, as well as her own fashion line inspired by her love for all things vintage, classic and pin up! Some of her style icons include; Marilyn Monroe, Priscilla Presley, Audrey Hepburn and Bettie Page! Brianna lives by the quote “Give the girl the right pair of shoes, and she can conquer the world!” In her free time, you can find Brianna sketching, designing and sewing! Brianna is so thankful to her mentors Nikki and Kailynn for helping mold her as she continues her journey in the business world!
Tehani Lopez attended Arizona State University, where she studied Sociology and Media Relations. Tehani is a world traveler with a passion for helping others. She uses her education and work ethic to help entrepreneurs thrive and achieve their dreams. In her spare time, Tehani is a Team Leader for Feeding America-San Diego and a Wish Granter for The Make-a-Wish Foundation. She is a passionate believer in living life to the fullest and dreaming BIG!
Gwen Burnett has been a Sales Executive for more than 18 years. During which time, she amassed millions in sales for US and International fashion brands. While aligning herself with high profile women’s and children’s apparel companies she implemented road maps to successfully procure new business with National retailers such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Lord and Taylor, Anthroplogie, Dillard’s, TJ Maxx, Saks Fifth Ave, to name a few.
Prior to her Sales exec management roles, she owned, designed, and produced children’s private label graphic inspired t-shirts. Overseeing the creative process and directing 12 sales/marketing teams led to successful ventures with many Chain and dept. stores. Eager to share her profits she created a platform and founded a non-profit foundation in 2001 to provide clothing for underprivileged Guatemalan children.
One of her greatest strengths is procuring new opportunities and launching brands, thriving on challenges, particularly those that expand beyond the companies reach. For fun, she enjoys traveling the globe for cultural diversity and fashion inspiration. To date, she has traveled to over 100 countries.
Maria is a recent graduate from California State University San Marcos with a Communication degree and a double minor in Spanish and Ethnic Studies. While attending CSUSM, she was a member of Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society as well as the copy editor for the school’s newspaper. Maria joined ChicExecs as a Channel Management intern, a position in which she discovered the exciting world of retail placement. She has since been brought onto the team as a Channel Management Account Coordinator, helping with both product and showroom placement. Determined, driven, and with a great focus for detail, Maria has found a happy home within the Channel Management team, helping all clients succeed in their ventures. In her spare time, she enjoys reading a good book, playing with her dogs, and enjoying the Southern California sunshine.
Erin Margerum has been working in Sales for “consumer packaged goods” for over 15 years. She has had global sales experience working with most major retailers in Canada, US, and all over Europe. Retailers include ASDA, Walmart, Target, CVS, Rite Aid, Kroger, HEB, LoBlaws/Shoppers Drug, Sainsbury and Boots. Erin’s main focus has been in health and beauty care, personal care and pet. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work on product development, package design and marketing plans to help her client’s grow their brand. One of Erin’s best skills is creating and maintaining relationships with retailer buyers! Erin has a strong passion for athletics and is an avid volleyball player. Her passion is shared with her family; her son has played competitive baseball and will hopefully be playing football in college very soon!
After graduating from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Taylor dipped into Behavioral therapy and freelance writing. Having family with lifetime careers in fashion, Taylor has always been attracted to that field. Whether it was flipping through Harper’s Bazaar or Vogue during her lunch breaks to scout upcoming trends, or working years in retail styling, all of her countless experiences have been focused on what is going to be new and fresh in the fashion industry.
This led Taylor to combine her knowledge and experience to turn her direction toward branding. When interning at ChicExecs in the Channel Management department, she was immediately drawn toward a future career behind the scenes of the retail/consumer world, as well as a team centered atmosphere and the girl boss attitude within the office. Now a Junior Account Coordinator, Taylor is determined to grow and learn within the PR and Channel Management field.
Taylor has continued to travel the world and is drawn to new experiences, but always returns back to her home here in San Diego. Taylor spends her time outside the office adventuring, reading, hiking, and being around family and friends.
Ashly’s lifelong passion for fashion and beauty has allowed her to develop a keen eye for the next trend. A lover of the arts, she graduated with a degree in English from California State University, Chico. Ashly was eager to utilize her skills in an international environment and took the opportunity to teach English in Seoul, South Korea. She is inspired by different cultures and strives to be a well-rounded, open-minded individual. Ashly was immediately drawn to ChicExecs’ “Think Outside the Suit” female empowered brand. After working several years as an Account Executive in the hair care industry, Ashly was enthusiastic about joining ChicExecs; specifically the Channel Management team where assisting innovators and entrepreneurs find success in the marketplace is the ultimate objective. Ashly is your typical San Diego native who enjoys practicing yoga, living an active lifestyle and staying current on healthy food trends.
Following four years of study in Science and Psychology, Lydia was as surprised as anyone when she landed a great job in the finance industry after graduation. A very successful six-year career in Marketing & Sales with a leading Mutual Fund company taught her how to make her way in a fast paced, competitive and often harsh environment. With a passion for understanding people and how to build on one’s natural strengths and struggles, Lydia spent much of her time doing business presentations for her clients on how to get the most from their team, prospects and self. Lydia came to ChicExecs after moving to California in early 2012. She was drawn to the company’s clear focus on ethics, respect and the belief that every idea has merit and with the right team behind it…the recipe for success. She loves traveling, scuba diving, great food and making sure that laughter is front and foremost in her life.
As a former department manager and buyer for Nordstrom and a lead at Disneyland, Lisa Blake brings extensive knowledge and success in branding. She has a passion to help ChicExecs clients shine by spotlighting unique qualities that’ll stand out through all national and international media outlets. She played a critical role in the success of the most visited theme park in the world. Also, while working for the top fashion retailer, Lisa was able to hand select the products and fashion items that properly represented the Nordstrom name. She also ran and co-owned a very successful medical practice. From owning her own business to representing large corporations, Lisa brings skills any company would need to see their products and/or services become a common household name. She is also on the board of #HashtagLunchBagSanDiego – dedicated to empowering, inspiring and giving. Lisa puts together bagged lunches with messages of love, for people in need. When she’s not working and volunteering, she enjoys hiking, going to the beach and playing sports with her three kiddos.
Jessica grew up in San Diego, & attended San Diego State University where she studied Psychology. After college, Jessica discovered her passion for sales while working at Nordstrom La Jolla. At Nordstrom, Jessica received the Customer Service All-Star Award, and was recognized for outstanding selling performance when she received the Pacesetter award. While working at Nordstrom, Jessica was also a sales representative for Monster Energy and Image Concepts Uniforms. Jessica loves building lasting relationships with her clients, & strives to make dreams a reality for inventors & innovative brands!
Dual enrolling at University of South Florida and graduating with degrees in Mass Communications, Public Relations &amp; Business Administration, Marketing, Jami knows it takes hard work and determination to make a company name into a household name. Whether your brand is young or well established, she recognizes the unique needs and implements a strategy for each individual situation. Jami started with ChicExecs not long after moving to California and worked with the PR team. After proving herself, she moved over to the marketing team and now helps many clients figure out what best fits their objectives and direction. Jami has been out here in beautiful SoCal since Oct ’14 and loves every second of it! Florida is missed but nothing can touch the mountains and the endless opportunities for her, her husband, or her two pups to enjoy the beautiful outdoors! Not many can say they’ve snowboarded &amp; surfed in the same day?!
Whether managing brand communications, curating a visually dynamic feed, engaging with community, or creating blog content, Cassiopeia brings expertise in the written word, confidence, and style to the table and seamlessly integrates them all with a smile that permeates the text. After a foray into education, Cassiopeia rediscovered her love for content, publicity, marketing, and project management and hit the ground running working in the children’s, fashion, entertainment, and lifestyle industries. With a passion for brand development, social strategy, and the creation of unique, engaging content (and armed with a degree is in Journalism and graduate work in education), Cassiopeia does still occasionally shut off the devices to spend quality time with her hubby and two boys, to volunteer with a local non-profit, and to scope out the best local coffee shops.
Nicole Corpuz is an experienced social media strategist with a passion for creating identity and cultivating community, both online and in the real world. She has enjoyed working with clients ranging from solo entrepreneurs to national retail brands, political candidates and international relief organizations. A Hawai’i native, Nicole graduated with honors from San Diego State University with a degree in Journalism and Political Science. When she’s not scouring social media for the latest trends and viral topics, Nicole is probably elbows deep in the Anthropologie sale racks, hosting a backyard BBQ, or nerding out to NPR while experimenting in the kitchen.
A native San Diegan, Kristin graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University’s Managerial & Organizational Communications program. Her background is in event planning and social media management, sharpening her natural organization skills and attention to detail. When she’s not filling in spreadsheets and growing social media accounts, Kristin spends a lot of time at the barre studio and playing with as many animals as she can. As a former magazine blog editor, she knows the importance of reaching the right media for the best exposure for her clients.
Richelle is a graduate of California State University, San Marcos with a Bachelors degree in Communication. While attending CSUSM, Richelle found her passion for media studies. Richelle started at ChicExecs as a Social Media Intern and successfully worked her way up to Account Coordinator. When she’s not helping her team grow social media accounts, Richelle can typically be found exploring Disneyland or hanging out in a crowd at a concert.
Karolina graduated from SDSU with a degree in Business Management. She has an extensive sales background from retail to PR. She loves connecting with people and forms relationships quickly.
She worked in corporate banking for over a decade, where she worked on many different projects. She was a Portfolio Monitoring Analyst on the Research Development team and quality controlled the work of other analysts. Karolina has been part of the ChicBlvd family for over 7 years now. She started helping Nikki and Kailynn at trade shows for their product line ChicBuds. She worked in PR as a Senior Brand Development Executive for 4 years and most recently after returning from maternity leave she is the Project Manager for Hustle Humble. Most recently, Karolina has also taken on the role of Marketing Manager for ChicExecs.
Her passions include helping others and giving back. Karolina loves inspiring others find the joy and positive things in life. She has 3 children and spends her free time with her family. She enjoys running, yoga and going to the beach.
Megan originally came onto the ChicExecs team as an intern and proved herself through her hard work and determination, giving her a permanent spot in the mMrketing department. She studied Business and Marketing in College and has a background in Fashion Merchandising. She’s constantly thinking of creative ways to achieve the teams goals. Megan loves working for a company that helps entrepreneurs fulfill their dreams and bring them success. She’s inspired everyday by all the amazing new and innovative products she comes across.
