9 Secrets to a Successful Trade Show

Prepping for a trade show is more than just booth set up. While some businesses have the secret recipe for networking at trade shows – it’s no secret. It’s simple: trade show success is measured by how much effort you put into it.

But what specific strategies will boost your business? Check out our top nine tips for making the most of your trade show experience:

 Prep with a Press Release

Send a press release to media prior to the show, inviting them to your booth for a new product reveal.

Boost with a Buyer Release

Send out a buyer release to existing and new buyers, inviting them as VIP to set a meeting with you to review your product launch at your booth, before it’s released. Get them excited about your brand new business!

Tease with Treats

Offer special treats for VIP guests, such as cupcakes and drinks if they schedule a meet and greet time with you. Everyone loves freebies, and this will help you network and get face to face with the right people!

Send Special Gifts

Send unique invites through the mail, like ice cream or cookies, prior to the show. This will attract buyers to your booth!

Meet & Greet

Schedule influencers to be at your booth at a specific time, while inviting buyers and media outlets to come at the same time for the perfect meet and greet sesh!

Use Social Media

Plan live social media streaming at your booth! Whether that’s an Instagram story, live Tweeting, or a customized Snapchat story, it’s essential for media and buyers to see the behind the scenes action during the trade show.

Keep Features Front and Center

Prepare press features that you can hang in your booth for credibility and recognition. Show your company off, you work hard – tell the world all the great features you get from that hustle!

Don’t Let Anyone Miss Out

Can a buyer not attend this year? Don’t forget to alert them about pre-show specials that they can take advantage of! No one should miss out on the ability to network.

It’s All in the Details

Make sure you have a compelling catalog, look book, and line sheet for your buyers to peruse.

Gear up for that next trade show with tips that will help you and your team thrive!

ChicExecs Star of the Office: Cassiopeia!

Name: Cassiopeia Guthrie

Position: Account Executive, Social Media

What three traits define you?

Whittling someone down into three traits is next to impossible, but if I had to choose three, I would probably select idealistic, proactive, and dynamic.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

My kids, usually. Unfortunately, they don’t know how to make the coffee. 🙂 Ha! But as far as my inspiration for starting each day goes, I’d have to say that I simply love people, life, and throwing my energy in the ring for a common cause, and I believe that each of us is contributing to something bigger than ourselves.

Where is your favorite place to be?

This sounds somewhat cliche, but Disneyland! There’s nothing like the Happiest Place on Earth! That said, I sure spend a lot of time in Trader Joe’s.

What’s your favorite thing about working at ChicExecs?

My favorite thing about working at ChicExecs is working alongside a group of vibrant women who empower one another on a daily basis. It’s a fresh dose of inspiration every single day!

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

I think we could all learn a lot from actor and activist Emma Watson. I respect how she carries herself with such confidence and character, and I look up to the way that she champions women’s rights, humanitarian causes, and sustainability. Watson knows her mind and heart and is a positive role model for young people, showing them that age and gender need not have any bearing on a person’s ability to change the world.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone just starting at ChicExecs?

You’ve got this… and if you have any questions, just reach out and ask for help! We’re all here to help each other succeed!

What’s your go-to motto?

I absolutely love Don Miguel Ruiz’s Four Agreements:

1. Be impeccable with your word.
2. Don’t take anything personally.
3. Don’t make assumptions.
4. Always do your best.

This spectrum of simple statements forms a powerful guiding philosophy.

Lastly, tell us something that might surprise us about you.

People might be surprised to know that I’m not only a credentialed bilingual classroom teacher but also a certified babywearing educator!

ChicExecs: Creating Company Culture Through Office Design

Inspiration can run dry for a number of reasons, but it shouldn’t be from your daily workspace. Creating company culture in the workplace isn’t just about adorning your walls with the company logo or painting everything in the same brand colors. It’s about crafting a unique, empowering environment that reflects your company and its team.

Here at ChicExecs, we’ve created a space that motivates, empowers and reflects the passions that our CEOs, Nikki and Kailyn, truly value. Take a peek at the different ways you can boost employee spirit while creating some serious office envy.

Play Up The Positive

Give your office a motivation makeover with empowering messages displayed on the walls. Inspiring surroundings can actually have a direct effect on their employees’ creativity, so whether it’s a tranquil setting, game area, or positive quotes – stir those creative juices.

Stock Up On Snacks

Being hangry never helps anything. Not only does stocking your office with tasty snacks keep your employees happy – it will ensure they are always focused. Providing fun perks like free food boosts spirits and I mean come on, it’s food.

Our latest obsession is our client Rise Buddy chips – they are the perfect crunch for that midday snack!

Collaborate With Chalk

Quick brainstorm? No need to furiously take notes on your laptop – just write on the walls. Although this satisfies a childhood dream, it’s actually a great benefit to have in any office. Keep organized in any meeting while scribbling away very important doodles. Who said you can’t have fun while working?

Make Time For Media

In the PR world, taking time to actually watch the media features we land for our clients is crucial. With televisions set up around the office, we can huddle around our Pinterest-inspired viewing area and watch as client struts their stuff on The Today Show, or Good Morning America – and bonus: we can even record it for our social!

Find Funky Furniture

From stylish swings to rustically worn wood, set up your space to reflect the vibe of your office. In PR, potential clients may be waiting in the front space of the office, and we often throw networking events, so having your working space on point is a must.

When it comes to your office space, there’s no such thing as “one size fits all.” Show off those vibrant vibes and your company’s personality by dressing up the decor in your workspace!
